Welcome

Welcome to the ANGLR (Atlanta-North Georgia Lakes & Rivers) Blog!

This blog will serve as my personal fishing journal, and a supplement to the ANGLR Facebook page, which serves as a resource to kayak, canoe and SUP anglers, specifically in the Atlanta and North Georgia area.

If all goes as planned, I would also like to host at least two unique tournaments per year, with part of the proceeds going to various charities.  I have some great ideas in mind, so stay tuned!  There is a huge paddle fishing community in our area, so I think we can come up with some events that will be looked forward to each and every year.  The tournament(s) will be scheduled after most of the local KBF sanctioned tournament trails release their schedules, to avoid conflicts.  Also, more species besides just black bass may be eligible!

The kayak fishing community is a tight-knit bunch, and it has been my experience that most of us are really passionate about growing the sport.  We are welcoming to new anglers, and seemingly more prone to offer advice to a newbie or someone visiting for a short trip.  I would encourage those that follow ANGLR to be inclusive to those who seek our knowledge - after all, we were all newbies once.  For me, it really hasn't been that long.  I have never asked for anyone's honey hole and would never expect anyone to divulge all of their secrets, but I have gathered a lot of valuable knowledge from speaking to other kayak anglers when I've been out on the water.
